Bra-A-Week: Week 21

Jun 7, 2015 | Swimwear Makes | 6 comments

Hi All!

Today I have something super fun and summery!! I used the zig-zag print- and made this 2-piece suit!!

I was inspired by my aquafit classes for this on! (Yes, I go to aquafit with my mom and friend, yes we bring the age demographic down by 40 years- But it’s SO MUCH FUN!) And I needed a bathing suit that wasn’t just for lounging or hot-tubbing, but for some serious aqua aerobics!

The suit and rashguard I made last week is also fantastic for aqua aerobics- but I wanted a no-sleeve version too! So I came up with this swim-suit/sports-bra hybrid! It’s all lined in powernet for extra snug support, but it’s a little more stylish cut than any sports bras that I own!

I feel like there are more details in the back of this suit! I did the back with a criss-cross strap for extra support and mobility, with a cute drop-shaped hole!

And I thought it was about time to try a Brazilian-scrunched bottom! I feel like it’s a great way to add some cute detail and shaping- while still having a fun and sporty feel! And super easy to do!

(butt shot- eeek!)

I love my suit!! It’s definitely a more compressive style- it doesn’t really show off the girls- but you really can’t beat it for any type of athletic swimming- and it’s so comfortable, I think I might make myself a couple more to wear as sports bras at the gym!

Yay! I just love my suit- and this print! It says summer fun to me! 🙂

And now on to your lovely bra-makes!

————————————————
First we have this lovely delicate bra from Christie!

Christie has been working on getting her perfect pattern And here is another beautiful bra she made in her quest! I love all the lace on this bra- and the colours- so delicate and pretty!

What a cute touch with the blue bow too! Love it!!

Next we have another beautiful submission from Sofia of Silver Lining Atelier!

This week Sofia tested out the new free pattern from Madalynne- Mallori Lane!  It’s a very cute-bralette and simple bralette with some back strapping details!

Sofia made it using some pretty pink lace and coordinating elastics! Very pretty! Don’t forget to check out Sofia’s review of the pattern over on her blog!

Finally this week we have very sexy bra from David of Bonnet Blue!

This is David’s Vikki bra, a triangle bikini bra! He made it using pink and black lace, and some ribbons. I love the ribbon in the strap- very cute. And va-va-voom! Love the delicate back-strapping too!

Erin, absolutely adorable, as usual. And practical. I like that. I like practical and pretty all wrapped up into one. I do hope Christie is close to getting her perfect fit. Very pretty. And I love Sofia's bralette. David's work is amazing as always.

Another lovely bikini!! I love the high neckline, and maybe you could use the same shape for making a cute bralette as well! I also had a similar experience in an aqua-gym class (that's what they call it here) I went with my mum. Even with us in the class, the average age was still above 50, but at the end… I discovered that some of the oldest ladies were in better shape than me! Oh, shame!
Embarrasing memories aside, let's talk bras: Christie's submission is really nice, and I wish her luck in her quest for the perfect bra! And the back of David's bra is amazing, no wonders he is a talented designer!

Thanks Sofia! This would be the perfect bralette- or crop top 🙂 and you should never underestimate the aquafit ladies!!
