#BraNews October

Hi All!

Step 1: Make yourself a cup of tea

Step 2: Get cozy

Step 3: Read all the amazing things happening this month in the bra making world!

For myself this month, I’ve been back at the videos- and still loving it 🙂 I made a video all about Bra Findings, and a video all about the differences between Sheer Cup Lining and Bra Tulle 🙂

I also took a little time for some selfish sewing! I started the month out with a Navy & White Stripe Swimsuit to satisfy my early October heat-wave cravings! And at the end of the month I made myself a modified version of the Elmira Wrap Top from Colette 🙂 I think they’ll both be wardrobe staples!

In other big news- we’ve had a big pattern release from Norma of Orange Lingerie! She released her new Berkley Bra , which is a lovely simple horizontal seam cup with an internal powerbar! Here is her great post on some Berkley inspiration to get your sewjo going!

More in Berkley news, Ying of Tailormadeshop, has done a collaboration with Norma of Orange Lingerie for some beautiful lace bra kits.

Ying has also kept me drooling over all of her gorgeous watercolour designs, which she is having printed on fabric *swoon* I can’t wait to get my hands on one of her gorgeous floral design fabrics!

I actually met up with Ying of TailorMadeShop and Rachel of Maker Style last weekend for a girls weekend- and it was SUPER fun, you will be seeing a vlog of it very soon 🙂

In more bra-friends news- my amazing friend Sofía of Silver Lining Atelier, just came out with her first lingerie collection, Arkhé, and it is STUNNING!! You can follow her on instagram to show her some love <3 and be ready to swoon!

In bra-making classes news- a new class was released on Craftsy.com, this one is a Bralette Class from Alison Smith you can go over and watch a little preview of the class to see if it’s something you would like!

Bridget of Sewist Original has been crazy busy at bra making this month! She wrote reviews for the Berkley Bra, the Marlborough bra and the Arccos Undies! She also wrote a tutorial on copying your favourite RTW panties, and to round it all off, she posted a video on What to Know Before You Start Lingerie Sewing! I think it’s fair to say that I’m jealous of your productivity this month Bridget!!! lol

This month is also the month of Canada Cups, a bra-making blog tour for Canadian bra makers- and this year they decided they were Coming Unwired!! haha- so the theme is non-underwired styles of bras! They have tons of post through the tour you can head over to Seam of my Pant to read the kick off post and find links to all of the posts for the week, and you can also head over to Michelle’s Creations to read tons more posts on the tour!

Kat of Kat Makes, has been busy with a fantastic post ‘A Five Panty Drafting Party‘ where she goes over panty drafts and all the modifications to make your panties amazing!! It’s a long and juicy post- so make yourself a tea before you start!

Gillian did a great post over on the Sewcialist Blog on her ‘TNT’ Undergarments, where she goes over how she maximizes her bra & panty sewing!

Maddie of Madalynne did a fun post on 3 Lingerie Inspired Halloween Looks with gorgeous photography as always! And she also wrote a DIY Robe Tutorial with Spoonflower on their blog, if you’re looking for a pretty thing to put over your beautiful lingerie 🙂

I saw a funny video on Ladylike where they tried wearing different styles of vintage bras for a day, and I have to say that I appreciate my own bra wardrobe even more now!

And now a little eye candy of some of your bra makes!

Wow! This month was absolutely incredible!! I think after a lovely summer break everyone is super motivated to get going on their bra making projects- and I’m totally feeling the sewjo!

How as your October? Any plans for November??

I always love to talk in the comments!!

I agree, I will definitely brew a tea and come back to this post to read it again in detail. The Berkley Bra looks especially nice. I have yet to actually delve into the world of bra making (I am still in the research phase) and I just wanted to let you know your blog and videos are really helping me out. Thank you so much for all of your hard work, Erin!
