My First Vlog! Moving Studios

Hi All,

So I finally took the plunge. Video.

I have to say that it’s been a pretty daunting- the whole idea of filming things- figuring out cameras & audio, thinking about lighting and the way that I want my videos to look.  There are so many things to think about, so many things to learn. Then once you have some footage- you have to put it all together and edit it into something that people might want to watch- yikes!

So naturally- being me- I just jumped right in and decided that a ‘my life / bring you around with me as I move studios’ style of vlog would be the best place to start! I know that I LOVE watching videos like this- I’ve been watching YouTube since 2010, and I just love how you get to know people and see their lives (yes I’m just super nosey). But it’s such a cool personal connection and way to share information. And I really wanted to give you guys a glimpse of the ‘behind the scenes’ of my business and life, and to see my new studio as it all unfolds!

Now, of course, I’m planning a lot of different content for this video channel- not just ‘follow me around’ vlogs. I’m thinking about all the different tutorials I can do, maybe some lookbooks for patterns I plan to release, some fun sewing videos.. the ideas are endless. But I just love the idea of you guys coming along with me on this sewing business journey!

SO for this vlog- what is it about?-  This vlog is all about moving into my new studio – this is going to be a part 1 of 2 moving vlogs- so you can see the transformation of my new studio space as I move all of my things over, and start to organize the space.

Change Your Bra Pattern for Different Styles of Underwires

Hi All,

This was also a highly requested tutorial- like last week’s tutorial on changing your pattern for different sizes of underwires. If you’ve read my posts on Underwire Fitting and my Guide to Different Underwire Styles. Then you might have found that you need an underwire that is a different style than the one that you use in your favourite pattern. So what do you do about it? – Modify the pattern of course.

To start off- I want to say, just like with any bra pattern modification, there are definitely limits to this- and depending on how large of a change you’re trying to make with you pattern, there will definitely be some test bras and fittings required. There’s only so much you can do with a bra pattern if you’re planning to make serious modifications.

Modifying Your Bra Pattern for a Different Size Wire

Hi All!

Today’s post has been HIGHLY requested after the past posts in underwire month, especially after my Underwire Fitting Post where I explained the ins and outs of wire sizing and how to find the right wire for you!

So now you’ve found the underwire that fits your size…. but maybe it doesn’t fit your bra pattern size- bummer.

Let me start off by saying that this is SO common- it’s almost the norm – it would be crazy to think that every person with the same cup volume would have the same wire size- so what do you do about it?

The Plunge Wire

Hi All,

This post is all about my Plunge Underwire!

If you want to know more about underwire styles & the wires I offer check out – Underwire Styles & Body Types

If you’re looking for more info on fitting underwires check out – How to Fit an Underwire

This is a really fun wire! And the name for it is pretty self-explanatory! This is my Plunge wire, perfect for making that gorgeous plunging neckline on a bra! What I love about this wire is that it’s high on the sides so you can get that great support and leverage to pull your cleavage to the centre- because that’s what we all really love about a good plunge bra!

You can find the printable PDF wire  chart for this wire here: Plunge Wire Chart PDF
