Saturday Life [11.07.15]: Birthdays, Social Media & Mrs.Weaver

Hi All,

I’ve been having one of those busy weeks. Not like my past weeks where I’ve had one big thing to accomplish- like preparing my presentation for Pitch this Place, or moving all of my belongings out of my Hamilton apartment and down 5 flights of stairs *sweats thinking about it*. I’ve been having one of those weeks where you have a million little tasks to accomplish. A million e-mails and phone calls, lots of little posts, and lots of computer time.

New Social Media!

So one of the first things I did this week is tackle my social media. I know that I’m a young person, and I should know all about social media- and I do to some extent- but I’m not a big social media user. So I tackled that this week and opened an Instagram and a Facebook Page!

So far I’min love with Instagram- it’s just so pleasing to the eyeballs- I’m @theemeraldstudio !

You can go there to see pictures from my life including my garden, my puppy and sewing projects I’m working on. It’s been strangely addicting-it’s like a photo journal of your life 🙂

My Facebook Page hasn’t received quite as much attention, that will be on my goals list for next week! But I do have a cover photo designed by my sis! YAY

For all these lovely social media outlets I decided it was time that I had a better way to share them on the old blog- so I put these up in my sidebar:

I know they look simple, but for a blog illiterate person like me it took all day to figure out the best way to do this. If anyone is also baffled and would like these buttons for sharing- check out this post– this is how I did it, and it saved my life! And they have so many gorgeous coloured buttons for free! 🙂

Elsewhere on the blogging-sphere

Some exciting things are happening for my good friend Mrs. Weaver in Calgary! She is soon to be opening her new Mrs. Weaver’s Finest Unmentionables Parlour!

Here is an *exclusive sneak peak!!* of her new location!!It’s really shaping up beautifully- I mean that antique Butterick Pattern cabinet *swoon*

She also had a very close call with Master Chef Canada– with her amazing black ant cheesecake *drools uncontrollably*

In other news, I did a guest post over on the Sewcialists Blog!

It’s all about my love and tips for Cut&Sew Foam and Fold Over Elastics! You can check that out here

And last but not least- it’s my sister’s birthday today!

So I made this little number for her! I’ll be doing a blog post about this tomorrow 🙂

Wow this week has been busy! But I’m loving every minute of it 🙂

How has your week been?
