[Style Search] Week 8: Styling the Ogden Cami

Hi All!

How has your fall been going (or spring if you’re on the other half of the earth)? Have you been able to work your way through the style changes of the season?

If you’re having a hard time, and feel like you want something quick and easy to sew that will give your wardrobe a boost – then I can highly recommend the Ogden Cami!

It was pretty great for styling this week!

As you can imagine, it’s pretty much one of the most versatile things that you can make and wear. Last week I whipped up two to add in to my capsule wardrobe- one out of a slippery black rayon, and the other out of this gorgeous red lace!

I tried to keep my style words in mind when I was putting these outfits together, and to keep some more casual and dress others up so that I could get a good range of styling options.  So here we go with the outfits!

OUTFIT 1

This first outfit is probably the most dressy – The red lace Ogden cami, with my black mabel quilted skirt, rounded out with black tights, boots and a cardigan. Because of the lace I didn’t want to overcomplicate it with jewelry, so I decided that a matching pop of red on the lips was the perfect compliment!

I feel like this outfit is perfect for my colours- because the pop of scarlet is right in with my colours, and I think hits the glamorous, classic and effortless style words pretty well- and comfortable- this outfit is super comfortable!

OUTFIT 2

This next outfit is super simple, my black rayon ogden, tucked into an old distressed pair of levi’s, ankle boots and my little pin cushion charm necklace.

For me this outfit is a little bit edgy and cool, while also being pretty effortless and chic! I love this outfit, and it’s super comfy for being a busy bee in my studio!

OUTFIT 3

This outfit is a prefect professional outfit for me, it will be great for meetings or mingles. Simple dark wash jeans, tall boots, the red lace ogden and a slightly oversized navy blazer.

This outfit works perfectly into my colours with the pop of scarlet and navy! I think this outfit looks pretty timeless, a bit lush and fun with the red lace and very practical. I love the detail of the scallop lace hem!

OUTFIT 4

This outfit is a prefect fall outfit! My black ogden, with my blue mabel, black tights, high boots and this slouchy knit sleeveless cardigan thing. I can see myself wearing this to the studio, out to coffee with a friend, something light and fun.

This style to me is pretty effortless, simple and chic!

OUTFIT 5

This is my ‘styled down’ look for my red lace ogden cami. Worn with my black ripped jeans, oversized denim button up, my grey hoodie (because it was cold!) and some ankle boots. I would probably go anywhere in this outfit, running all my errands, and then to drinks with friends later.

I think this outfit is a little bit edgy and cool, fun with the lace cami, and super comfortable and practical!

OUTFIT 6

This outfit is another classic. Black ogden with simple dark wash jeans, lace up boots and a checked flannel shirt over top! This is another go anywhere daytime outfit for me, I would wear this to a craft beer festival, to the studio for a day of order filling, out to coffee with a friend- and the easy thing about this outfit is- you just put on a leather jacket, some more chic boots and you have a perfect cocktails outfit.

I think this outfit speaks to my style words of: comfortable, practical, effortless and simple. 🙂 Perfect for a relaxed day at the studio full of tea breaks and puppy snuggles!

Also – if you have not caught the two epic yawns from Gibby- here is your close up.

This is how enthusiastic he was for this set of photos this week lol

Well those were my outfits and ways of styling my new ogden camis!

How do you style your ogdens?

Which outfit is your favourite?

How has your style journey been going lately?

I think I’m going to reflect on my fall style search soon, there are a lot of things that I’ve learned and a lot of things that I’m still working on!

    Erin,
I've been catching up on my blog reading this morning and I love your cami's! Your style quest is interesting and something I've been pursuing myself over the last couple of years. One of my blog readers suggested that I look into "Dressing Your Truth" and it has been an absolute godsend. I now look like one of those put together women who just know what goes with what. It's amazing. Anyway, if you have a few minutes, you should google it and see if you think it'd be helpful.
