Saturday Life [21.11.15]: First Week in my Studio

Hi All,

This has been a very surreal week. The first week working in my studio. My Studio. It’s a real thing!

It’s been so amazing having people drop in to say hi, ask about having a custom bra made, inquiring about my upcoming classes (post soon to come on that!!) It has really been the most amazing combination of overwhelming and magical, all at the same time!

I’m still basking a little bit in the glow of my opening, and loving all the beautiful flowers that everyone gave me πŸ™‚

And I had a wonderful surprise of these beauties! The lovely man who designed my sign did some more beautiful design work for the blog and the studio! I can’t wait to get these digitized and made in my new header and stamps!!

The other big project that I’ve been focusing on this week is launching all my new products!!! YAY and that meant lots of product photography!

Here is a little behind the scenes magic of the Etsy Product photography!!

Here I am photographing my newly-launched Bliss wire!!

I did a post all about these wires here.

And you can find them in my Etsy shop here πŸ™‚

The other thing that I launched are new bra kits with beautiful bra tulle!! You can check those out at The Emerald Studio Etsy!

You’ll also get to see a couple samples of them coming up tomorrow πŸ™‚

I’m already seeing the orders coming in! And I’m so happy with my new packing area!! Everything green πŸ™‚

And I’m writing this, as I sit at my front counter, planning out all my goals for next week, looking down at my little Gibby :)Wow it has been a full week! And I can’t wait to show you what I made for the Bra-A-Week Challenge tomorrow!

How has your week been? I love hearing all about you guys!

Until tomorrow

Saturday Life [7.11.15]: It’s all coming together!

Hi All!

My week has been a week full of inspiration, elbow grease, and seeing my dream studio come together πŸ™‚

I am still overwhelmed by all the support! Here is my dad hanging the door for my fitting room, that is now up and painted!

I can’t wait to show off all the things that he’s made for my studio- the tables, shelves, counter and spooler- he’s a machine!

Mom and I took on the task of all the painting- with a good amount of enthusiasm! Making sure that everything is looking polished and pristine for when the doors open!

Here is my beautiful front counter & shelving unit πŸ™‚ I’ll be doing lots of blog writing and business admin from here πŸ™‚

A little clothes line to show of some of my bikini beauties πŸ™‚

I also had a great chance yesterday to take the night off, invite some close, local friends to a small pre-launch party! It was amazing- and the ideas were flowing, and I felt such an amazing sense of excitement for this space πŸ™‚

There was talk of photo shoots, social media classes, silkscreening classes, events and so much more! It was a coming-together of young, creative and inspired minds all dreaming of the possibilities for an awesome future πŸ™‚

I can’t wait for next Friday and my official Launch!! (Post coming soon about that!)

And I’m so happy to be sitting in my cozy studio, taking a break from painting to write this post, eating a fresh apple, and drinking some of this delicious tea!

I feel like Gibby in this photo- running full speed ahead towards something amazing πŸ™‚ And I’m so happy that you’re all here with me!

Hope your week was amazing, let me know all about it!

Saturday Life [31.10.15]: Farewell Calgary, Hello Emerald Studio!

Hi All,
This has been another crazy week of adventure. An adventure that started out in Calgary and ended back home in Ontario.

The last week of my visit with Mrs.Weaver was a wonderful mix of time at conferences, time behind the sewing machine, time with Karin’s beautiful family and time with some tea and chocolate.

And of course these pups πŸ™‚

One day Karin treated me to one of her favourite Australian teas and raw chocolate! mmmmm it was so good, and we sat and planned out some of the patterns that we are working on together! So much coming up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

My final two days in Calgary were spent helping Karin with her corset making class! It was so much fun! Everyone was absolutely amazing- and the corsets were really stunning! Karin will be doing a post on her class coming up soon! Shout-out to all the lovely ladies I met in the class- I miss you all!

Reflexting over my two weeks in Calgary, it’s been fun, it’s been crazy, it’s been running around from place to place, eating new foods and trying so many new things! This is a photo of me sewing a breast prosthesis together as we ran out the door to a show, never a dull moment!

I’m so happy that I had a chance to share my work with so many lovely people! It was such an amazing two weeks πŸ™‚ spent with one of my favourite people πŸ™‚

Meanwhile, back at home mom & dad have been moving things into my studio πŸ™‚

I’m so excited to get moving on this space!! It’s going to be so amazing! And I can now announce that my grand opening will be on November 13th!! So if there are any of you lovelies in the Belleville Ontario area who would like to come to the launch- I would love to meet you!! I’ll make sure to write a post all about it soon!

Right now, I really wish I could just curl up like Gibby and sleep for three days! But no chance of that for a while! Back to the studio for me! Can’t wait to catch up with you all next Saturday!

So that’s been my week! How about you? anything cool and exciting? ordinary and routine? And plans coming up?

I always love hearing about you πŸ™‚

Saturday Life [24.10.15]: Drag Make-Up, Armour & Calendar Girls :)

Hi All!

I have had the most incredible week, so full of exciting and amazing things! The first thing I want to talk about is the beautiful calendar above!! This is an amazing calendar, from Mrs.Weaver’s Finest Unmentionables, is full of real and beautiful women, in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Society! Amazing! And I’m so excited to announce that it will soon be available in the Emerald Studio Etsy Store! Make sure you head over to Karin’s blog to read all about the amazing process of making this calendar πŸ™‚Β

Now back to my week!

It started out pretty amazing with a class on drag make-up- for those days when your regular foundation-mascara routine is just not enough πŸ™‚

Then in the evening the beautiful Mrs.Weaver and I put on our corsets and headed to another evening of Burlesque, but that evening we got to show off our wears πŸ™‚

Then it was off the next morning for a very special meeting and future collaboration! What could make a regular corset even more amazing and exciting?

Adding armour to the mix of course! We met with a very talented armourer and talked about all the exciting possibilities mixing corsetry with armour! I am so excited to see the future of this collaboration!!

Then we had a relaxing mid week- talking all things bras and bra draft- never too far from tea & chocolate.

This was also a great opportunity to make up a beautiful lacy mastectomy bra for our upcoming expos! πŸ™‚ Mastectomy bras should really only come in beautiful options πŸ™‚

And so many women agreed with our idea of beautiful mastectomy wear at Bra-Day in Calgary, an evening of all things breast cancer and reconstruction. What a great evening!

And now we are off to even more events to show our beautiful wears πŸ™‚ We will be at the Calgary Body Soul & Spirit Expo all weekend!! So if you’re in the area feel free to stop in for a chat!

It has really been the fullest and most phenomenal week! I can’t wait for all the amazing things this week to come! πŸ™‚ If you are on Instagram you can always check out mine and mrs.weaver’s happening by following us @theemeraldstudio & @mrsweaversfinest and with our #emeraldweaverproject!

Hope you’re all having a fantastic week πŸ™‚ Let me know all about it in the comments!

Saturday Life [17.10.15]: Friends, Calgary & Burlesque!

Hi All!

Wow this has been quite a week! Really an overwhelming week, and it went by so fast! I started my week, just getting home from camping in Pennsylvania and now I’ve ended it in Calgary! What a ride!

After getting home from camping, of course I couldn’t just stay put, I had to head to the city to meet up with two good bra friends πŸ™‚

It was a day full of fabric, and chatting over drinks on a patio in the sun πŸ™‚ With some super talented bra-makers:

Julia of Ellesmere lingerie– a new indie lingerie designer!

&

Holly of Intimate Underpinnings– a custom bra-maker from Portland!

Love you girls! πŸ™‚

Then the middle part of my week consisted of some turkey eating & visiting with family for our Canadian Thanksgiving, but mostly a panicked flurry of corset sewing and prep for my big trip!!

And before I knew it I was in the airport waiting to board my flight! Watch out Calgary- because Emerald Erin is coming to town!!

And of course the raison d’Γͺtre in Calgary is of course the most fabulous….

Karin of Mrs.Weaver’s Finest!!

the most amazing hostess & friend a girl could ask for! -this was my morning view, sipping my tea πŸ™‚

I’ve hardly been in Calgary for 48 hours and we’ve already been hard at work! (I love my job!) Sharing bra theory, corset makes, inspiration, plans for the future!

Karin has so much amazing happening in her life & business right now- such an inspiration! And I’m so happy to be a part of it all!! And you will all be part of it too!!

And of course there isn’t a better way to kick off our visit than a burlesque show from the Calgary International Burlesque Festival last night!! all I can say is WOW!! there are no words for how much I enjoyed this show! just amazing!!

And we get to go again tonight for the Saturday Night Cabaret!! And with a booth to show off our custom corsets! So if you would like to come out and see us- we’ll be there!! πŸ™‚

I’ll be wearing this outfit to the Saturday Night Cabaret tonight! so excited!
