Homemade Soaks, Scrubs and Oils!

Hi All!
So close to Christmas! Can’t believe it’s only 4 more sleeps!
I thought I would share one of the gifts I made this year! For my wonderful friend Kaitlyn 🙂

I had my friend Cael (expert of all homemade bath products) come over and help me put these all together!

Kaitlyn and I set on exchanging homemade gifts this year- and she has been working so hard at her job that I thought she should treat herself! So I made her a set of soaks, scrubs, and oils for her nails! I set on all lavender and mint scent 🙂

First I made:

Lavender-Mint Epsom Salt Foot Scrub/Soak

3 cups epsom salt (which are so inexpensive!)
2 tbsp peppermint or spearmint tea (dried mint leaves)
3 tbsp dried lavender florets
4-5 drops of both lavender and peppermint essential oils

Its as easy as gathering the ingredients, mixing them in a bowl

Adding the essential oils

And leaning in for the amazing smell!

This is SO nice! The epsom salts are a really great texture for a scrub- what I like to do with them is get a hot tub of water, then get a handful of the salts- dampen them a little, scrub my feet with them, then relax them down into the tub of water where the salts will dissolve, and the oils release all the lovely smells 🙂

Next I made:

Honey-Lavender-Mint Hand and Cuticle Scrub

1/3 cup white sugar (for the scrub texture- you could use brown sugar too)
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp coconut oil
3-4 drops of both lavender and peppermint essential oils (or as many to your liking- be careful the oils are strong and you can easily go nose-blind)

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

It should make a nice paste- perfect for rubbing into your hands and cuticles.

Then put it into a cute little jar.

Lastly a moisturizer to finish it all off!

Coconut-Lavender-Mint Hand and Cuticle Oil

1/3 cup coconut oil- (or however much you need to fill the container you want to use)
4-5 drops Lavender and Peppermint essential oils

Take your amount of coconut oil, and melt it in the microwave.

Then add your oils, pour it into your container- and it will go back to solid (you can put it in the fridge to speed this up)

Put them in your assorted jars- slap some cute labels on them, and tie them with some pretty ribbons! I added two of my favourite nail polishes just to complete the manicure set!

It’s important to note that you can make this any scent that you want- and I am so tempted to make more for myself! You could use all different essential oils- like orange, or you could use other spices like cinnamon and cloves! Maybe vanilla? The possibilities are endless!

Do you do home-made gifts? made anything special for anyone this year?

4 more sleeps!
