Hi All!
This is going to be a shorter post today, no submissions and no too many pictures, I think everyone is taking a bit of a break for the holidays.
I also wanted to take a moment to reflect and say, this is it. This is the final week of the Bra-A-Week Challenge 2015. How do you feel? I feel pretty incredible right now, I remember when I started this challenge back in January, as a much more novice bra-maker, thinking that it would be a good thing to challenge myself to do, but possibly a little unrealistic. But I persevered, and so did you guys wow! I have seen some of the most amazing submissions this year, and so much progress from so many of you! It’s truly incredible 🙂 and I feel so lucky to be at the center of it all.
Now as I mentioned before, I’m going to be posting in a couple days to tell you what is in store for the Bra-A-Week Challenge in 2016, but I can say that you can keep sending me submissions 🙂
So for this final challenge, I thought I would get with the giving Christmas spirit and make two comfy bralettes for my mom and sister 🙂
The striped one is made out of stretch cotton jersey and was purely an around-the-house comfy bra for mom to wear, kind of like pjs 🙂 And the purple plaid is made out of flannelette and is super soft and comfy too for my sister.
It was such a lovely afternoon in my studio on Christmas Eve, listening to Christmas music, in my own little world sewing these up for my favourite people 🙂 I don’t have any photos of them on, because we’ve all been so busy after they were opened Christmas morning. But I can tell you that they fit and they are loved!
How was your Christmas? How was your year? I can’t believe it’s almost the New Year. And I have so many exciting things coming up for it too!
If you haven’t already checked out my post from yesterday about my top 5 hits and misses of 2015, make sure you head over and check that out, and keep watching for a special post coming up about my year reflections, and what’s coming up in 2016!!

Hey Erin!
This Bra-a-week-challenge was such a great idea, although I joined only 3 weeks ago or so 🙂 I think you inspired so many of us, and I wonder what 2016 will be… Definitely not boring!

Hi Erin,
I'm so glad you're doing the Bra-A-Week Challenge again! I was so bummed that I missed it the first time. I just made my first prototype bra yesterday and I'll be working on the fit over the next few days.
In the meantime, Happy Holidays!
Thanks!! And yes- it will continue, so you can keep sending your submissions in! It will just change a little 🙂
These bralettes are so lovely!! I'm sure your mum and sister are now very happy with their christmas presents 🙂
I hope you'll continue inspiring us with your beautiful makes next year, and I'm so happy to read that the Bra-a-week challenge is going to continue on 2016! I can't wait to see what's coming up next! 😀

Merry Christmas Erin! and Happy New Year! I didn't submit nearly as often as I wanted to, but I have thoroughly enjoyed, and been inspired by the challenge! I an't see what you are doing for 2016! XO Linda
Um…I can't wait to see what you are doing is what I meant to type!
YAY! Thanks Linda! I can't wait to see more from you this year! it's going to be a great year I can feel it!! xoxo
Love those bralettes! I seriously can't wait till the pattern comes out so I can have one too! When I read that this was the final week of the challenge, I thought DAMN, I shouldn't have been so lazy and gotten those last submissions in – but then I saw submissions are open for next year 😀 I'll be sure to get my act together and send them in soon! Hope you had a lovely Christmas, and I can't wait to see what next year has in store!
Thanks Maddy! I'm working on the pattern! And don't worry about the submissions- you have time! But it is crazy- 49 week! I can't wait to see your new makes! 🙂 It's going to be a good year! xoxo
Can't wait to hear what your challenge is for next year—- I'm hoping to jump in. Your adventures in bras have been nothing short of spectacular!!!
Thanks Tina! I'd love to see some of your makes! It has been quite a cool year- and 2016 is going to be even better!!!!
I'm so glad you are going to do it again! It really has been a source of inspiration, and creative challenge that I'm not quite ready for it to be over! And yeah! It's not. Thank you.
Thanks Amber! I can't wait to see what you make in this year!
These are SO cute and perfect!!! Were you working from a specific pattern for these bralettes or did you draft it yourself? These look very similar to what I purchase OTR, and I would LOVE to have the ability to make one for myself. Thanks in advance!
Thanks! This is a self-drafted pattern, and it's the pattern that I'm currently working on to release! So you will be able to make one in the future!
Oooh! Tell me you will be making it with larger sizes, too! I've been keen for this since I saw the one you created for Mrs. Weaver. 🙂
Larger sizes are definitely part of the plan 🙂
