This corset it the Angel Underbust pattern from Scarlett! Don’t you just love those lines! This is my first corset with hip gores ๐ And I love it!
Now I must admit that I didn’t make a mock up of this (I know it’s shameful!) and it turned out a little too big, but it’s actually nice to have a corset that I can do all the way up and it’s not too squeezing! Otherwise I love the shaping of this corset- I’ll just make a smaller size next time ๐ There will be a next time!
Karin showed me this corset in person this week- and WOW! This was her first experiment in pattern matching on corsets with this beautiful crane and floral corset. How stunning is this!
I heard from Karin that the best way to pattern match is with wine, after three glasses of wine, everything lines up! I’ll have to try her technique in the future!
Make sure you head over to Karin’s blog to see this gorgeous corset!

Next we have two pretty sets from Emma of A Hand Stitched Life:
Emma made these using the Watson from Cloth Habit, and the Jasime Bralette, Grace and Betty panties from Ohhh Lulu. ย How gorgeous are these! I love that colour blocking!
Fantastic choice of fabric too- Emma used this mini-sequin fabric along with velvet- how luxurious! Love it! Make sure you head over to Emma’s blog to see her post about these lovelies!

Next we have a very lovely bra from new contributor Karen!
Karen made this using the Marlborough pattern from Orange Lingerie, using apple green silk dupion, lace and hot pink elastics!
What a beautiful colour combination! This is so stunning! It’s also lined with cotton voile, and the back band is hot pink to continue the theme! Love it! Thanks for the submission Karen!

Next we have a dazzling bra from another new contributor Rachel!
Rachel made this bra using the Shelley Pattern from Pin-Up Girls. She used a duoplex inner layer, covered in a stretch sparkle outer layer!
What a fun bra! I love the colours, and it really catches the light! Fantastic! Thanks for the submission Rachel!

Next we have a beautiful corset submission from Maddy of Miss Maddy Sews!
Maddy made this corset using the 1703 corset pattern from the corset making compendium from Scarlett. She made this historical corset for her sister! What a great sister!
This was Maddy’s first corset- and what a fantastic introduction to corset making! And as ever- the economical Maddy- managed to make this corset for $30- an incredible feat on it’s own!
Make sure you head over and read Maddy’s post over on her blog!ย

And last but not least we have a gorgeous corset submission from Lauriana of Petit Main Sauvage!ย
Lauriana made this pattern using Scarlett’s corset belt pattern and leather! WOW! Loving the leather!
Lauriana mentioned that this is reminding her of the addictive nature of corset making- and I must agree!! It’s amazing!
Make sure to head over and check out Lauriana’s post over on her blog!ย

Oh, you all did stunning work this week! Karin, that pink corset is absolutely amazing – good tip on the patternmatching Lol. The two new contributors did absolutely stunning work – I love both. It makes me want to grab my patterns and fabric and do some bra making for a change.
Thank you Ilna! I'm so looking forward to seeing your new creations ๐
All so gorgeous ๐
That's so pretty, Erin! I really like the shape of the hip gores, and the fabric choice as well. All that together gives me a bit of an 'steampunk' vibe ๐ A perfect outfit for a burlesque festival! I hope you and Karin had a good time! I wish there was a festival like that in Barcelona… Maybe I should bring the idea to the local council! ๐
And the submissions this week have been amazing as always, with some talented new contributors! I'm completely in love with Karin corset and her fabulous pattern matching skills. That corset is THE corset!!
Thanks Sofia! we had a fabulous time- and the corset was perfect! I would highly recommend a burlesque festival- I think they should happen everywhere! – and isn't Karin's corset amazing!! it really is THE corset!
Another amazing corset Erin! It definitely has a much edgier vibe than the other two, it's super cool ๐ Karin's is stunning too! And seeing all the lovely bras is making miss bra sewing a bit, I can't wait until exams are over to get back into it. That being said, corset sewing has been super fun, and I definitely see more in the future. Can't wait to finally finish this one and send it in for next week!
Thanks Maddy! I really love this corset – and Karin's is quite stunning!
I loved your corset this week- it makes me want to do something more historical! So many more bras and corsets in the future ๐
