How has your fall been going (or spring if you’re on the other half of the earth)? Have you been able to work your way through the style changes of the season?
If you’re having a hard time, and feel like you want something quick and easy to sew that will give your wardrobe a boost – then I can highly recommend the Ogden Cami!
It was pretty great for styling this week!
It’s already the end of week 2 of Me Made May, and I have to say that I’m just as smitten with it as last week 🙂 This week I’ve worn lots of my me-made underwear, some me-made pjs, an indie pattern make from last MMMAY and of course my latest indie pattern make from this week, which I love!
Here is my week in me-mades 🙂
I sneaked this bralette out of my sisters draw on this day, this was the bralette that I made here for Christmas 🙂
This was another day for some me-made lingerie, and I pulled out one of my favourites, my Snow White bra, that is looking very lovely for Spring too 🙂
And today was of course another day for some lovely me-made lingerie, and my Parisian bra was my pick of the day, I love it just as much as the day I designed it <3
There is my round-up for Week 2 of Me-Made-May 2016!
I’m finding that it’s much easier this year than it was last year, after a full year of the Bra-A-Week Challenge!
How is your Me Made May going? What challenges have you found? Still sticking to your goal?
Let me know!
I’ve been having one of those busy weeks. Not like my past weeks where I’ve had one big thing to accomplish- like preparing my presentation for Pitch this Place, or moving all of my belongings out of my Hamilton apartment and down 5 flights of stairs *sweats thinking about it*. I’ve been having one of those weeks where you have a million little tasks to accomplish. A million e-mails and phone calls, lots of little posts, and lots of computer time.
New Social Media!
So one of the first things I did this week is tackle my social media. I know that I’m a young person, and I should know all about social media- and I do to some extent- but I’m not a big social media user. So I tackled that this week and opened an Instagram and a Facebook Page!
So far I’min love with Instagram- it’s just so pleasing to the eyeballs- I’m @theemeraldstudio !
You can go there to see pictures from my life including my garden, my puppy and sewing projects I’m working on. It’s been strangely addicting-it’s like a photo journal of your life 🙂
My Facebook Page hasn’t received quite as much attention, that will be on my goals list for next week! But I do have a cover photo designed by my sis! YAY
For all these lovely social media outlets I decided it was time that I had a better way to share them on the old blog- so I put these up in my sidebar:
I know they look simple, but for a blog illiterate person like me it took all day to figure out the best way to do this. If anyone is also baffled and would like these buttons for sharing- check out this post– this is how I did it, and it saved my life! And they have so many gorgeous coloured buttons for free! 🙂
Elsewhere on the blogging-sphere
Some exciting things are happening for my good friend Mrs. Weaver in Calgary! She is soon to be opening her new Mrs. Weaver’s Finest Unmentionables Parlour!
Here is an *exclusive sneak peak!!* of her new location!!It’s really shaping up beautifully- I mean that antique Butterick Pattern cabinet *swoon*
She also had a very close call with Master Chef Canada– with her amazing black ant cheesecake *drools uncontrollably*
In other news, I did a guest post over on the Sewcialists Blog!
It’s all about my love and tips for Cut&Sew Foam and Fold Over Elastics! You can check that out here
And last but not least- it’s my sister’s birthday today!
So I made this little number for her! I’ll be doing a blog post about this tomorrow 🙂
Wow this week has been busy! But I’m loving every minute of it 🙂
How has your week been?
If you didn’t already know the Sewcialists blog is having a Lingerie Sewing Month!! YAY!
And I was thrilled when they asked me if I would contribute with a guest post!
So I thought I would do a useful post that I know a lot of you guys have been asking for! A tutorial on Cut & Sew Foam and Fold Over Elastic– my two bra-making favourites- as I’m sure you all know!
So this tutorial covers the materials I like to use, and more specifically how I like to sew with them! It gets into the nitty-gritty of stitch lengths and widths and lots of other detail- it went on for a long post! But I felt like I could talk endlessly!
Make sure you head on over to check it out– and all the other wonderful lingerie posts this month!!
What tutorial would you like to see from me next? They’re a lot of fun to make!
