I don’t know if you’ve noticed but The Emerald Studio Etsy shop has been flooded with new kits!!
I’ve been hard at work sourcing lots of lovely new laces, findings kits in my new Latte colour, and a few other little things to make bra making more beautiful!
So many beautiful new things that I had to do something so celebrate!
I’m going to be giving away FREE SHIPPING!! to one lucky Canadian and one lucky American every Tuesday for the rest of October!!
Pictured this week are the (starting from the top right counterclockwise) mermaid bikini with flower top, dreaming in silk bra, gingham retro bathing suit, ivory lace bra, zig-zag sport bikini & black lace body suit.
Okay, so May didn’t go quite according to my #MMMAY16 goal. I really wanted to be able to to make an indie pattern every week, and wear and photograph something different everyday, but alas, even the best plans don’t always go as you wanted. I’m pretty happy with how well I did, and I still have lots of plans to get making those indie patterns this summer (there may or may not be a cut and ready to sew Carolyn pyjama pattern sitting in a heap at the end of my ironing table). But May was just not the month to do it all! I had other things to do in May!
What I have been doing in May is getting sick (boo!), spending time with friends and family in the beautiful spring weather (yay!). And getting a whole pile of work done! I’ve had so many new products come in, and I’m in the middle of putting so many new things up!
I have my new foam!!
A gorgeous microfiber laminated foam imported from France, I can’t wait to use it in all my swimwear this month <3, you’ll see the first swimsuit tomorrow!
Also I have some other bits for swimwear :
My favourite swimwear elastic by the meter 🙂
And I’ve added another size to my triangle bikini cups! I now have them in small, medium and large with 5″, 6″ and 7″ cross-cups!
Not to mention I’m going to be releasing a TON of new swimwear to buy by the meter and in swimwear kits!!
And another exciting release! The Orange Wire!!
These are the wires that are designed to go in the amazing Marlborough and Boylston bra patterns designed by the lovely Norma Loehr over at Orange Lingerie
. These are very similar to my popular Round Wire, but they are a little shorter at the centre front, making them the perfect fit to the pattern!
I’m so excited that I could get the perfect wires in, I love Norma’s patterns, and I’ve seen so many people have great success with them!!
Well that’s a little taste of what’s been coming in to the studio, but I feel like there is so much more to share. I’m planning to make June a really fun month. June is my birthday month, June is the start of the summer, June is swimwear month (my fav!!) and I really want to get making some cool things, get more active on my social media, and connect with all of you!!
What are your plans for June?
How was your May?
Let me know in the comments!
I mentioned about a week back that I was having a Bralette Class at the The Emerald Studio, and I thought I’d share a bit of that day with you since it was such a fun time!!
The day started out with a custom drafted pattern, a moment to get the sewing machines set up and a cup of tea!
Then pretty soon the fabric was selected, the patterns were cut out and it was off to the sewing! Sharing tips and techniques and construction methods 🙂 chatting away! There’s nothing like a day of sewing with a group of women- so much fun!
The day went so quickly with tips and techniques and teaching, that all the sudden it was the end of the day, the second fittings were over, and there were two beautifully made and fitted bralettes ready to be take home and loved 🙂
It was such a good experience, and I can’t wait for my next class!!
Do you love sewing classes? What’s your favourite class you’ve ever taken or taught?
I thought I would tell you about the first class coming up at The Emerald Studio!
This class is a one-day class where you learn to make a bralette, specifically the bralette that you’ve seen me make on my blog so many times! (yes I love it!)
Since I don’t have my pattern available yet, and because a custom pattern is always better anyways 😉 you get a custom pattern drafted to your measurements for the class 🙂
I’m going to have a variety of fabrics available, and we’re going to get fun with it! Since it’s not an overly intensive class there will be lots of time for little tips and techniques, along with lots of fun and creativity! And I don’t know about you- but those were pretty much all my goals for New Years!
Whether you want to make your bralette into very pretty delicate lingerie piece…
Or you’re looking for some cozy flannelette to lounge in this winter 🙂
It’s all up to you!
If you want to see more about the classes at The Emerald Studio make sure to check them out on the classes page of my website. Or you can always send me an email or leave a comment 🙂
