Another week of May just sailing past. This time I took as many photos as last week- not too bad lol! It’s always amazing to me how much things change in May- the month always starts out cold, in sweaters and jackets and jeans- then by three weeks in you can sunbath in your bikini some days. Maybe that’s just how sporadic the weather is here in Southern Ontario, but I’m completely soaking up all this warm weather! There’s nothing better than knowing that you have all of summer ahead of you 🙂
So to start off this week I wore one of my favourite pretty bras- my Lily of the Valley – I have to say that I don’t often wear the garter belt that I made to go with this set (since I don’t usually wear stockings) but I do wear the matching panties all the time. It’s one of the only white bra and panty sets that I’ve really fallen in love with, usually white isn’t my favourite, but I think the lace and the cut out details really make this shine!
Next I wore another favourite- and I would say that this is my all-time favourite- My Black Beauty bra! I also did an Exposing the Unders on this bra for my Sunday post. I’ve used this base pattern for quite a few of my other favourite bras, including the foam sets I made the week before, and my chartreuse & black set.
Next I wore a clothing make! It was the perfect day because it was so sunny and warm, so nice and breezy! I really love this dress, I made it at the end of the summer last year and got as much wear out of it as I could before the weather got too cold, but I’m really looking forward to having it in my wardrobe this summer! It’s the Tank Dress from Sew Caroline, and I made it with this printed rayon, so it’s so super soft and flowy and I added a little placket detail in the front, just to give it that something extra when you’re up closer 🙂
And last but not least for this week of wears- My Snow White bra. Another classic of mine. This bra deserves a wear every once in a while. I usually wear it on a special day or when I want something that makes me feel really held in. A longline just isn’t practical and comfortable for my everyday- but definitely so for a special day 🙂
And there we have it! Another week of May passing by- and I have to say- maybe it’s the warm weather, or just more time passing, but I’m definitely getting more and more energized and getting so many projects moving and of course my brain is buzzing with a million ideas and things that I want to do! It’s going to be a big summer of projects for me!
Do you have any summer projects that you’re looking forward to?
Also I used to do some posts on my blog called ‘Saturday Life’ where I took pictures through my week of what I was doing and posted life updates. I don’t know if I would do posts exactly like that again but would you be interested in content like that again? Just something I’ve been rolling around in my mind.
As always, I love hearing from you 🙂
It’s already the end of week 2 of Me Made May, and I have to say that I’m just as smitten with it as last week 🙂 This week I’ve worn lots of my me-made underwear, some me-made pjs, an indie pattern make from last MMMAY and of course my latest indie pattern make from this week, which I love!
Here is my week in me-mades 🙂
I sneaked this bralette out of my sisters draw on this day, this was the bralette that I made here for Christmas 🙂
This was another day for some me-made lingerie, and I pulled out one of my favourites, my Snow White bra, that is looking very lovely for Spring too 🙂
And today was of course another day for some lovely me-made lingerie, and my Parisian bra was my pick of the day, I love it just as much as the day I designed it <3
There is my round-up for Week 2 of Me-Made-May 2016!
I’m finding that it’s much easier this year than it was last year, after a full year of the Bra-A-Week Challenge!
How is your Me Made May going? What challenges have you found? Still sticking to your goal?
Let me know!
It’s been a pretty good start to Me-Made-May this year, if I do say so myself 🙂
I did wake up with a bad cold on day 3, but I’m not letting it dampen my me-made spirits 🙂 It just gives me a chance to wear all my comfiest me-mades!
Here is my week in outfits!
A day to be sick and cozy in my me-made sweatpants, these are very old and very loved 🙂
Another day to be sick and snuggle in my cozy sewing jammies with mr Gibby- (did you notice his hair cut, lol)!
Today was a day to be comfy, I’m still getting over my cold and I needed something snuggly to be with me all day, so I’m wearing my Winter Bralette & new boyshorts! 🙂
It has been a good week in Me-Mades!!
It’s funny how much Me-Made-May inspires me to sew, I realize as soon as it starts that I’ve been suppressing all my clothes sewing urges and then suddenly it’s like ‘I want to make ALL the things!!, not just the under-things!!’
What have you been inspired to sew so far this May?
Talk to me in the comments!!
This is the final round-up for Me-Made-May!! Can you believe it’s June already!!
Day 24 was my Bra-A-Week challenge day- so I wore my swimsuit
from that week! I love this one- it’s my prettiest suit! Super ruffled!
This was a day for some pretty jewelry- I made this necklace last year 🙂 I really miss jewelry making- I should do it more!
Day 26 I wore this fuchsia and grey lace bra from Week 8
of the challenge, I realize that while I like it, I’m not in love with the shape- it needs a little more work before I would wear it under knits.
On Day 27 I wore these nautical sailor shorts
! Mom made this for me a couple years ago and I love them, they’re very light- and the buttons are pretty!
This was another jewelry day- this is actually one my sister made with all these bead flowers cascading down- I love it over this simple navy shirt!
This was my day of an indie pattern make! I made this dress from Sew Caroline- a light summer option! and I did a post on it
It was a Saturday for strappy bras! and I wore this one from Week 4
of my challenge!
And finally the last day of May was also Week 20
of the challenge and I wore my latest suit! A bikini with a rashguard crop top! I am so in love with this suit!
Well I can’t believe that May is over. May has been an absolutely incredible month for me, truly unbelievable. And I’ve loved wearing all of my me-made things! It’s made me realize how many things I’ve been able to make over the last couple years and how much progress I’ve made!
I think it also made me realize a couple things that I’m missing from my wardrobe- I’m missing some simple tops, and I would like to make some shorts for the summer too!
The challenge has also given me the chance to explore some indie patterns. I have to say that my favourite pattern so far is the Nettie from Closet Case Files. It’s not usual that I buy patterns, and that I’ve already used it three times is incredible- it is truly a staple in my pattern library now! but I’ve really liked all the patterns that I tired and I’ve still got my eye on a few that I didn’t get a chance to make!
Did you participate in Me-Made-May? What did you learn from your month?
Hope you’re having a lovely first day of June!
Week 3 of Me-Made-May, and it was quite a spectacular week if I do say so myself!!
This was a day for lovely morning with my favourite summer pjs
!! I wore my cute pj set that I made from the Sorbetto top pattern and bloomer bottoms that were a modified pattern taken from RTW.
This was my day of being a bombshell goddess! After taking the photos for this suit for Week 18 of Bra-A-Week
, I stayed in it for a while, just lounging with the gorgeous weather!
It’s like picking a favourite child, but I think this might be my favourite swim suit so far!
It was another glorious day in Ontario and I thought I would do a little sun bathing mermaid style
! (in the shade as a responsible pale person does- although it looks like Gibby got a little sun in his eyes!)
This was my day to wear some home-made jewelry, I love the super indie feel of this necklace, fun and delicate 🙂
This was a day for lots of computer work, which means home-made sweat pants all the way!
I thought I would highlight one of my most used hand-made items- and that is this laptop case that my mom made me! It has a super handy pocket on the front for papers and my planner and I love the nautical feel 🙂
My indie pattern make of the week! I know I was supposed to branch out and try new patterns but I saw this pattern hack
for the Nettie over at Closet Case Files on making an off-the-shoulder Nettie and I knew I needed one in a crop-top version! I love it!!
The post on this top is coming tomorrow!!
Yay! I’ve been loving this Me Made May! It reminds me of how much work I’ve done this year, how many beautiful things I’ve made, and how lucky I am to be doing all of this 🙂
How is your MMMay 2015?
